Dear little one, take a seat, pick a mirror, and wipe it clean.
Look closer and ask, who is the fairest of them all?
Don’t be alarmed, younger me, for I’m here as a guide,
An assurance of your victory and a balm to your scars.
Little one, look closer, embrace that reflection you fear.
Walk through the glass now and get stoic,
For the demons you fight now only get stronger.
The path you are on I have been, the results you seek I am it.
If we are to grade then you have failed, for life’s bet was against you.
Little one, enjoy the little things, flex your shoulders, and stretch your arms.
Dance in the rain, and embrace its punches, for worse awaits you.
Block your ears from the Snickers and stop yearning for verification.
Let go of the anger and hurt or you shall sink deeper into that hole.
Sit in your corner little one and fight your battles slowly.
Take your time and don’t get swayed by the hustle and bustle of the streets.
Flee from comparison, for little one, not all fingers are equal.
The hurt you feel now is just a crack, for your break is yet to come.

Oh, the pain! Little one, it will crush you into bits, and your heart will tear open.
Your eyes will sink, and bags will float on your face in a river of your own making.
You will stumble through Cupid’s thorns and when you think you’re free,
it will hit you with a poisoned arrow and leave you in mockery.
Your strength will fail you and your only comfort will be the cross.
So embrace its turmoil, bow at its feet, drink its blood and swallow its death.
Little one, I cannot promise you happiness, for you shall strive day and night,
Planting seeds of superficial bliss and reaping nights of surficial smiles.
Little one your cheeks shall hurt from forced giggles, so learn to take a break.
Come apart when the pain hits, and crumble when the wheel moves.
Succumb to the potter’s touch, embrace its lessons and never lose sight.
Dear little one, find peace in yourself for men shall heap coals of shame on you.
And in your darkest moments, when the moon engulfs you and the earth swallows you,
Look deep within you, for I shall be there guiding you as I also look up to the Future.
For it is she who has all the answers we both seek, and we must do her proud,
Even as she also looks up to the One who knows all and wills all.
For we are all dust and to dust we shall return.
